Only really a few questions raised in this episode, but one of them is pretty big, story-wise.
Q: How is Walt ‘special’, and why?
We never really find out. Yes, Walt appears in places that he shouldn’t be – but it’s possible that the Man in Black is impersonating him, even if he usually impersonates the dead. Other than that, well, it seems to be a result of the actor’s aging. More on this here.
Q: Boone seems out of character – what’s up with that?
Following on from last episodes revelations about his dependence on his sister, he seems to have transferred his emotions quite aggressively to Locke. It’s setting him up for a fall…
Q: Claire had a dream about the Black Rock?
Charlie tells Jack and Sayid that she dreamt about ‘a black rock’; there’s no reference to it being a ship. Given that nothing is ever made of Claire having any kind of prophetic dreams again, this can likely be chalked up to coincidence.
