On Oceanic 815, Rose sat across the aisle from Jack Shephard, who tried to comfort her when the plane hit turbulence as her husband was in the restroom at the back of the plane.1
After the crash, she wasn’t breathing and was successfully resuscitate by Jack and Boone. Later, she sat on the beach crying softly and kissing her husband’s wedding ring.2
Boone began to worry about her several days after the crash, and suggested Jack speak to her. He sat with her apart from the rest of the group and eventually persuaded her to rejoin them – but not before she told him that she knew her husband, Bernard, was alive somewhere.3
Weeks later, Rose reached out to Charlie when he withdrew into himself following his near-death at the hands of Ethan. She continued to have faith that her husband was alive, and helped Charlie come to terms with his guilt at letting Claire be kidnapped4.
